Oscar Niemeyer

“…form follows beauty…”

The self-proclaimed philosophy behind the work of an enduring source of inspiration - architect Oscar Niemeyer.

Niemeyer (1907 - 2012), a fellow Brazilian, believed in having beauty be accessible to all.

His incredibly prolific and influential career has created more than 500 architectural projects around the world. He continued to work well into his 90s and died less than 2 weeks from turning 105 years old.

Niemeyer changed architecture on a global level with his use of reinforced concrete. His structures are often made of seemingly impossible curves, surreal dreams in the landscape. His greatest examples have become landmarks of my original home, Brazil.

Growing up there surrounded by his visual language has left an indelible impression on who I am and what I create.

Here are just some of his great projects -
